We unfolded the Christmas tree and fluffed and preened until it was all decorated and just about perfect. There was only one ornament broken in the deal, which was two less than last year so I think we are progressing. But then there is Honey. She thinks we just installed her own climbing tree. Hopefully she will be a good kitty.
Thursday we hosted dinner. The family was a bit scattered this year, Big Bear, AZ, other family in SD. We enjoyed having everyone in our new home. We had our feast out of doors, in our wonderful SoCal weather but it was a bit on the chilly side. We were all excited about coming back in for pie and warming up.
Friday we drove up to the Liefelds home for another full round of turkey and stuffing. Everyone and everything was wonderful. Our girls played with all the other cousins and had lots of fun. It was a great day and Rob and Joy miraculously, with the help of everyone, pulled off a second turkey dinner in two days. Thanks everyone for the great holiday.
Sadie had a program at school for Halloween. The class sang a whole list of songs many of which had been practiced over and over at home and in the garden. But there was so many more that we had not heard before the big performance, all of them short and sweet. There was also a poem recited and a drama to end the show. They were all so cute
Sadie sang with all her might at times and a constant swinging of her arms and twisting of her bow.
After the show there was a party! Lots of food and treats to sample. Emma requested the strawberry drink as it was pink and foamy!
And then came Trick or Treating with Neela. Nana and Papa came along for the walk as well. Emma was TinkerBell, Neela was Dorothy, and Sadie was Cinderella. I made all the costumes and of course when Nicole called at four o'clock I was still sewing trying to finish Emma's slippers. From yesterday afternoon.I am so excited my tree nursing skills have been just good enough to get this lemon back to sprouting new leaves…
