Sweet pumpkins

Our new favorite pumpkin hunting grounds were discovered today at Lavender Hill Pumpkin Farm. A beautiful farm with big shade trees fit with a swing, lavender lining the drive, and wonderful people.  When we arrived it was 91 degrees with a saving breeze coming across the fields.  We unloaded and let loose looking for the perfect one to carve and a few for pie, muffins, and looking pretty around the house.
Sadie and Emma ran up and down the rows looking for what they wanted. Emma picked out a whopper straight off and Sadie meandered not quite committing to any one.  After a few swings under the big tree, picking some little ones and some big, Sadie headed out to pick her carver. She found it and went for one last swing. I paid for our lot, we loaded the car and headed out, not realizing we had forgotten Sadie's special carving pumpkin until later in the evening. Oops.
Lesson: Put your pumpkin in the wheelbarrow lest you leave it behind.
