throwing stuff in the oven
It is heading toward the end of summer and even though there are hot fall days in our future, it seems there are piles of edibles that need to be used up. A peach tree in the park is finally ready for picking, shhh. Tomatoes from our garden and those if friends continue to monopolize the olive oil, herbs and the oven. I need to replenish my dried herbs, so those need cutting and hanging before the ground cools off and their growth subsides until spring.
Pluots from Farmer Steve are destined to fill jars with jam on Thursday. Spotty bananas needs to be smashed into sweet loaves to share as well.
